Stennis Space Center completes engine certification process for NASA Artemis moon missions
SUMMARY: NASA has concluded engine certification for the Artemis program's RS-25 engines at Stennis Space Center in Mississippi, where a 12-test series was performed, culminating with a 500-second hot fire test. These engines will power the Space Launch System (SLS) rockets beginning with Artemis V. Developed by Aerojet Rocketdyne, an L3Harris company, the engines were enhanced with new manufacturing techniques, like 3D printing, for efficiency while retaining performance. The successful tests confirm the engines' readiness for future lunar missions. Aerojet Rocketdyne is contracted to supply 24 new RS-25 engines for Artemis missions V through IX.

Applications now open for Mississippi Wild Hog Control Program
SUMMARY: Mississippi's Wild Hog Control Program (WHCP) is accepting applications. Agriculture Commissioner Andy Gipson highlighted the significant damage wild hogs cause, urging those with affected private agricultural or forestry lands to apply for traps. With wild hogs responsible for over $60 million in damage yearly in Mississippi, the WHCP provides traps and training for effective management. Applications are online and evaluated based on acreage, historical damage, and present trapping efforts. Small acreage owners are encouraged to apply cooperatively. Traps are allocated for month-long periods, at a suggested rate of one per 500 to 1,000 acres.
