Two women accused of shoplifting across southeast captured in Mississippi
SUMMARY: Two women, Cristina Pantelica and Alandro Badanac, were arrested in D'Iberville, Mississippi for felony shoplifting. They were born in Romania and claimed residency in Houston, Texas. The women stole over $5,000 worth of merchandise from Academy Sports + Outdoors, and were also suspects in similar crimes at other locations across the southeast. After returning to the store in D'Iberville, the women were arrested by police. They were given a $100,000 bond and are currently being held at the Harrison County Adult Detention Center, awaiting action from Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Columbus man found guilty of child sex crime is on the run – Home – WCBI TV

Kevin Hart reschedules two Jackson shows

North Mississippi woman pleads guilty to stealing government funds
SUMMARY: Misty Burgess of Lee County, Mississippi, pled guilty to theft of government funds in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Mississippi, according to State Auditor Shad White. In May 2020, she submitted an unemployment benefits application using her sister's personal information; her sister was an inmate at the Central Mississippi Correctional Facility and ineligible for these benefits. The U.S. Attorney's office will sentence Burgess in September 2024. Suspected fraud can be reported to the Auditor's office via their website or by calling 1-(800)-321-1275 during business hours.
