Area’s largest blood donation center makes emergency appeal for donors

SUMMARY: Vitalant South, the largest blood donation center in the area, is making an emergency appeal for blood donors, particularly those with O blood types and platelets. The supply of blood has dropped by 25% since May, and the organization aims to keep at least a four-day supply on the shelves. With many regular donors out of town during the summer months and a decrease in blood drives due to schools being out of , the need for blood increases.
