SUMMARY: The next two days will bring a threat of severe weather, with Thursday having a focus on an area-wide threat compared to Wednesday's threat mainly in extreme northern parts. There is a level one and two threat for severe weather, mainly concerning damaging wind, hail, and possibly tornadoes. This severe weather is associated with a cold front crossing the area on Thursday. Once the front passes, cooler and refreshing weather is expected for Mother's Day weekend. Ahead of the front, above-average temperatures are forecasted, with potentially record-challenging heat on Wednesday and Thursday. Showers and storms are expected to continue until early Friday morning.
