Harrison County moving away from American Medical Response for ambulance services

This allows for negotiations to begin with Acadian Ambulance Service, a recommendation by the county's Emergency Management Agency Director. The change after months of dissatisfaction with AMR's delayed emergency responses, leading to the establishment of a nine-member oversight committee last September. If a deal with Acadian is secured, they will replace AMR, which has served the county since 1974 and employs around 300 people in southern Mississippi.

Boil water notice lifted in Jackson following storm-related power outage

The advisory was initially issued after severe storms on Thursday night caused a power outage at the O.B. Curtis Water Treatment Plant in Ridgeland.
