Lt. governor supports revamping Medicaid

SUMMARY: Mississippi has refused to expand coverage to the working poor for over a decade, with Republicans and Governor Tate Reeves arguing it's welfare expansion. But now, Senate and House believe it's time to consider it. The expansion would provide coverage to 250,000 working poor , as long as they are working or to get a job and make under $20,000 per year for a household of four. The leaders believe it would be a potential boost for struggling hospitals. If expanded, hospitals would some of the 's required 10% match to receive additional federal funding, generating between $500 million to $800 million more dollars for health coverage.
