3rd suspect arrested for shooting death of 15-year-old girl in Hattiesburg

SUMMARY: Hattiesburg have 17-year-old Brown in connection to the shooting of 15-year-old Janya Lumzy, bringing the total number of arrests to three. Brown, also known as “Lil 6,” was charged with first degree murder and booked into Forrest County Jail with the assistance of Lamar County deputies and the U.S. Marshal's Fugitive Task Force. Two other suspects, Javan Stovall and Nicholas Odutola, were previously arrested. Lumzy was found shot and killed at Pineview Apartments in Hattiesburg on March 25th. All suspects allegedly involved in the shooting have now been taken into custody.

County workers help city clean up storm debris in Columbus

SUMMARY: Lowndes County Road Department workers teamed up with Columbus Public Works crews to clean up debris after a wind . 28 county workers used 11 dump trucks to more than 100 loads of debris in two days. They cleared for utility crews to restore services and facilitated the replacement of streetlights and other repairs. Despite political boundaries, everyone worked together to get the job done efficiently. The county saw some near the new Sportsplex, but the experienced the hardest hit areas. Collaboration between different departments expedited the clean-up and aided in overall recovery efforts.

Beth Ann White to be sentenced in DUI crash that killed mother, son
