SUMMARY: Several high school athletes from the Mississippi Gulf Coast traveled to Pearl High School for the track state championships for classes 7A through 5A. Aon Edy from Diab Ville took home gold in discus and shotput, while another athlete, Josiah Rayford, placed first in the 300-meter hurdles. Ocean Springs Junior Carmella Culture and Senior Grady Westbrook also won in their respective events. George County's New Snite became a back-to-back state champion in long jump and a first-time champion in high jump.
