Hinds County prepared for Tuesday’s election
SUMMARY: The Hinds County Republican and Democratic parties are making last-minute preparations for Tuesday's primary elections. The Republican Party Chair, Spencer Ritchie, is ensuring essential voting equipment is shipped out to polling precincts to prevent any issues on election day. Meanwhile, the Democratic Party Secretary, Sandra McCall, mentions that party officials spent the weekend preparing as well. By state law, each precinct must have enough ballots to cover 70% of registered voters. The Hinds County Election Commission faced criticism after running short of ballots during the last general election. Despite expectations of a low turnout, both parties are ready for the possibility of more voters than expected.
