Jones County school bus stolen over the weekend
SUMMARY: A man in Jones County is in jail after allegedly stealing a school bus and going for a “wild ride”. Authorities say 36-year-old Corey Comeaux admitted to stealing the bus from a home. He drove it to his friend's house where he was arrested and charged with grand larceny. The bus sustained minor damage but will be put back into use. Comeaux told police he stole the bus because he felt his life was in danger and he needed to escape. Despite his arrest, the 36-year-old claims he was chased and shot at.
The incident occurred on Saturday, Oct. 21, at a house on McFarland Road.

South Pontotoc beats West Lauderdale to move on to the North Half championship series
SUMMARY: The game was a close one as the Cougars faced a must-win situation with a packed crowd at Cougar Field. In the top of the first inning, a double play by the third baseman helped the Cougars get out of a tight spot. In the bottom of the first, Dalton Tutor hit towards third but another double play ended the inning scoreless. The game remained tied until the bottom of the third when Eli Holloway hit a solo home run, giving the Cougars their first lead. The Cougars held on to win 3-2 and advance to the north half championship series.
