Bond denied for teen after Jackson man killed, baby kidnapped

SUMMARY: A 17-year-old named Tristin Goodlett was charged with capital murder after a man was killed and a 10-month-old child was kidnapped in Jackson. Bond was denied for him. Two others, including 18-year-old Jazmyn Johnson had already been arrested. The suspects kicked the back door in, robbed the residents, killed Brown, and took a 10-month-old at gunpoint. This happened around 9:30 p.m. on August 30 in the 3700 block of Jayne Avenue. Goodlett's case was bound over to a grand jury. The baby was safely recovered at a gas station and is now fine.

The driver displayed a firearm towards the deputy, prompting the deputy to shoot. The driver was taken to the hospital, and the deputy was unharmed. The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation will be investigating the shooting and will share their findings with the Attorney General's Office.
