70% of medical marijuana in Mississippi on hold as retesting begins
SUMMARY: The Mississippi State Department of Health put an administrative hold on numerous medical cannabis products due to discrepancies in original test results for pesticides and mycotoxins by Rapid Analytics. A state lab started retesting on Wednesday, a process expected to last 2-3 weeks. Products will be released each Friday post-approval. Testing priorities are flower/bud, concentrates, and then infused products. Rapid Analytics, responsible for testing roughly 70% of the state's medical cannabis, was ordered to suspend operations after an anonymous tip about safety concerns. The Mississippi Medical Cannabis Program is funding the retest to ensure patient safety and regulatory compliance.
