Local mother works to fight stereotypes of autism
SUMMARY: April is Autism Awareness Month, and local mother Shemica Scott is working to fight stereotypes against those on the spectrum. She is a parent of a child with autism, a disorder found in about one in 36 children in the US. Scott organized an Autism Awareness event at Robins Noble Park, featuring crafts, games, and free food, to help children understand autism and feel comfortable around each other. She wants everyone to be welcomed with open arms, emphasizing that autistic kids are no different from other children and it's important to be kind to each other. Scott hopes to promote acceptance and awareness during Autism Awareness Month.

The 71st annual Jimmie Rodgers Festival held Jimmie’s Jam Session at the MAX
SUMMARY: The Jimmy Rogers Festival continues with Jimmy Jam at the max featuring local musicians showcasing their talents.
