The Annual Mississippi Made Festival returned to downtown Laurel with over 50 artists and craftsmen showcasing their work. Attendees were able to buy everything from jewelry to handmade quilts and blankets. Several food trucks also participated in the festival. Laurel Mercantile store manager Iris Andrews said the event was a great opportunity for both established vendors and newcomers to showcase their work and connect with the community. Andrews hopes the festival will encourage aspiring artists and craftsmen to pursue their passions.

Report: Driver had Kratom chemical in system at time of fatal Rankin County crash
