MDOT Repairing Storm Damaged Roads
SUMMARY: Mississippi is still dealing with the effects of a mid-January hard freeze, with potholes on the highway at an all-time high. The Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) is responding by sending crews out to fill the potholes, especially in North Mississippi where the roads have the most damage. MDOT warns that their pothole repair crews are a rolling work zone and urges drivers to be aware and cautious. Drivers are advised to slow down and weave to avoid the potholes. Residents also report that the potholes seem to reappear quickly even after being patched over. MDOT has not provided a specific timeframe for the repairs.
