ATMOS working in neighborhood where two explosions reported
SUMMARY: Atmos Energy crews and contractors are working to identify and fix gas leaks in Jackson neighborhoods after an elderly woman died in a home explosion. Gas lines are being dug up and repaired, with gas leaks already found and addressed. The explosion that killed the woman is under investigation and another gas-related explosion occurred in the same area. Residents were temporarily displaced and some were provided temporary gas hook-ups. Atmos Energy is expected to update the Mississippi Public Service Commission on their progress in fixing the gas leaks. The National Transportation Safety Board is also investigating the cause of the explosion.

SUMMARY: The construction of the River Avenue Bridge in Forest County has faced delays, originally scheduled for completion in mid-April but now uncertain. The County Engineer and Board of Supervisors revealed that construction company TL Wallace faced difficulties with guard rail installation, causing delays. However, this issue has been resolved, and crews are now working on finishing the decks before applying a final layer of asphalt. TL Wallace assured the board that the bridge should be complete or near complete by the following week. Commuters will have to wait a little longer before the River Avenue Bridge is open for use.
