Jackson man faces over 2 years in prison for bank fraud, identity theft
SUMMARY: Anthony Craig Myrick, a 45-year-old from Jackson, was sentenced to over two years in prison for bank fraud using counterfeit checks and another person's identity. Myrick cooperated with Ronald Gardner to deposit fake $500 checks at various BankPlus branches and withdrew money before the fraud was detected. He must repay BankPlus as part of his sentence. Indicted by a grand jury in August, Myrick pleaded guilty in October 2023, and Gardner in February 2024. Gardner awaits sentencing, facing up to 32 years. The case was investigated by the U.S. Secret Service and the Rankin County Sheriff's Office.
