Northwest Rankin has a new boys basketball head coach
SUMMARY: Northwest Rankin High School has hired former Provine head coach, Sir Dante Washington, to lead their boys basketball program. Washington led Provine to two state semifinals in his 11 years as head coach. He brings his competitive style of play and work ethic to NWR, emphasizing the importance of hard work and daily grind. Washington replaces Josh Luckett, who is now at Clinton High School. The two coaches are good friends and will compete against each other in the upcoming season. Washington's appointment signals a new era for NWR basketball, with a focus on competitiveness and hard work.
Longtime Provine basketball coach Sirdonta Washington is now at Northwest Rankin as he takes over the Cougars boys basketball program.

Lamar County School District bond referendum vote Tuesday
SUMMARY: Tomorrow, residents in Lamar County will have the chance to vote for or against a $117 million bond issue for the school district. City of Laurel has new clerk
