Petal leaders break down subdivision project
SUMMARY: In 2022, a proposed subdivision in Petal has caused concern among neighbors who worry about the rapid growth of the area. The proposed 700-home subdivision is proposed to be split into six phases over a ten-year period. The city officials are committed to maintaining and managing the growth, taking into consideration the effects on the local school district. The project is in the design phase and may take up to a year to complete. The developer, D.R. Horton, has not yet made a decision on how to proceed with the project.
