Work underway for a roundabout in Ocean Springs
SUMMARY: Major road work is underway in Ocean Springs, Mississippi, leading to slow traffic on Bienville Boulevard due to ongoing utility work by Mississippi Power. City crews are working to improve safety on Ocean Springs Road and Groveland Roads with a $3.5 million project, including upgrades to sidewalks and turning lanes. The project will also add a roundabout leading up to the traffic light on Bienville Boulevard, as officials say adding a second light would not be practical. The project includes left-hand turns for northbound traffic and will extend into the local neighborhood including Yoka and Monticello Woods.
Some traffic slowdowns are to be expected on Ocean Springs Road as crews work to build a roundabout and new sidewalks.
