County workers help city clean up storm debris in Columbus
SUMMARY: Lowndes County Road Department workers teamed up with Columbus Public Works crews to clean up debris after a wind event. 28 county workers used 11 dump trucks to remove more than 100 loads of debris in two days. They cleared areas for utility crews to restore services and facilitated the replacement of streetlights and other repairs. Despite political boundaries, everyone worked together to get the job done efficiently. The county saw some damage near the new Sportsplex, but the city experienced the hardest hit areas.
