Singing River Health System announces new buyer

A buyer for System (SRHS) has been announced by the County Board of Supervisors.

The Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System will take over the Mississippi Coast hospital system that was forced to sell due to financial losses stemming from the pandemic.

“We are about the possibilities for healthcare in our region and believe the Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System is the right choice,” Board of Supervisors President Ken Taylor said. “Fundamentally, they share our community values and have a mission to provide equal access to healthcare for all.”

In a release, SRHS officials ensured people that the Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System, which serves Mississippi and , plans to keep care local while investing in the community and its people.
