UMMC makes upgrades to Alert U
SUMMARY: The University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) has made enhancements to its emergency notification system, Alert U. The system now allows employees, students, families, and visitors to receive emergency text messages for severe weather or personal safety emergencies on the campus. Additionally, a new feature allows users to instantly contact and share their location with the UMMC Police and Public Safety Department through the Everbridge mobile safety app. Patients, families, and visitors can sign up temporarily to receive UMMC safety alerts by texting ALERTU to 333111. The updated system aims to improve personal safety for students, staff, and visitors.
