Ship carrying debris from Titan submersible returns to Newfoundland port

SUMMARY: The ship Horizon Arctic, which was searching for the Titan submersible, has returned to port in St. John's, Newfoundland, with debris from the destroyed vessel. The Canadian-flagged ship carried a remotely operated vehicle (ROV) that searched the ocean floor near the wreck of the Titanic. The owners of the ROV, Pelagic Research Services, have confirmed the successful completion of their offshore operations and are now removing their equipment from the ship. Photos show pieces of the submersible being lifted from the ship, the nose cone with its circular window. The Titan was destroyed during its descent to the Titanic site, resulting in the deaths of all five passengers and crew. The US Coast Guard, leading the ongoing investigation, declared the dead.

County workers help city clean up storm debris in Columbus

SUMMARY: Lowndes County Road Department workers teamed up with Columbus Public Works crews to clean up debris after a wind . 28 county workers used 11 dump trucks to more than 100 loads of debris in two days. They cleared for utility crews to restore services and facilitated the replacement of streetlights and other repairs. Despite political boundaries, everyone worked together to get the job done efficiently. The county saw some near the new Sportsplex, but the experienced the hardest hit areas.
