Ocean Springs woman launches Coast’s first hair extension line
SUMMARY: Amber Lord, owner of Haus of Locks, has been in the hair business for almost 17 years and has recently launched her own luxury extension collection. She wanted to create each color herself and spent two years designing the collection and making sure she got it right. Lord's goal is to start with the coast, getting other salons to carry her new line, and she has already received good feedback. In addition to the extension line, she also launched Haus of Lashes, a line of strip lashes and D-I-Y segment.

Jackson County Code Enforcement tackling menace properties in Virginia City area of Vancleave

Former Gulfport mayor George Schloegel honored with lighthouse dedication
SUMMARY: A special dedication was held at Ship Island Lighthouse in Gulfport to honor former mayor George Schloegel. A plaque was unveiled to remember Schloegel, who served as mayor from 2009 to 2013 and retired as CEO of Hancock Bank. Known for his significant contributions to Gulfport, Schloegel guided the city through hardships, playing a pivotal role in various sectors including banking and civic affairs. On what would have been his birthday, his son Michael and Hancock Whitney CEO John Hairston, who considered Schloegel a father figure, shared heartfelt memories. Schloegel passed away last year at the age of 83.
The legacy and impact of George Schloegel is now cemented into Gulfport.
