Biloxi Councilman Robert Deming enters guilty plea to federal drug charges
SUMMARY: Councilman Robert Deming has pleaded guilty to a federal drug charge for possession with intent to distribute synthetic cannabo. The prosecutors are recommending a sentence of 70 to 87 months, with the judge having discretion on the final decision. If the judge doesn't accept the recommendation, Deming has the option to withdraw his guilty plea and go to trial. This case is unique because there is no set sentencing when entering a plea. The investigation revealed that narcotics were being sold at Deming's candy shop. The outcome of this case could potentially impact Deming's Council position. The sentencing hearing is scheduled for August 13th.

SUMMARY: Welcome back! There are elimination games in softball and baseball tonight due to rain postponements. Van Cleave Bulldogs faced off against South Jones with Van Cleave winning 8-0. Sophoa Hollman's throw prevented South Jones from scoring in the first inning and Carly O'Bor's hit drove in a run for the Bulldogs. Despite South Jones' strong defense, Van Cleave's offense continued to score, securing their spot in the next round.
