SUMMARY: The Biloxi Shuckers are currently in second place in the southern League South and have hopes of making it to the playoffs. To secure their playoff spot, they need to win four out of six games in their final home stand of the regular season. In their latest game against the Montgomery Biscuits, the Biscuits scored first with a solo home run, but the Shuckers quickly took the lead with a single that scored two runs. They extended their lead with a grand slam and another home run, eventually winning the game 11-7. Their magic number to clinch a playoff spot is now three.

Hancock Lady Hawks drop game 1 of state championship series 2-1
SUMMARY: High school softball state championships began today at Southern Miss with three teams competing for the title. Hancock High School played against South Penola Lady Tigers in a close game, ultimately losing 2-1. Both teams had strong performances with key plays and runs in the fifth, sixth, and seventh innings. The Lady Hawks will have a chance to redeem themselves in game two on Thursday and potentially force a game three on Saturday.
