MSU’s Agricultural Autonomy Institute revolutionizes future of agriculture
SUMMARY: The Agricultural Autonomy Institute at Mississippi State University is focused on economic development in the state by addressing the growing difficulty of finding labor in the farming industry. The institute is developing autonomous systems like robots, drones, and self-driving tractors to revolutionize farming tasks that are dull, dirty, and dangerous. The aim is to increase production and profitability while also improving the safety of agricultural tasks. By developing autonomous machinery, the burden of finding workers can be reduced, and Mississippi residents can oversee these machines instead of performing dangerous jobs themselves. The institute expects its mission to expand in the future.
