Moss Point allocates $2M to cover cleanup costs from June tornado
SUMMARY: The city of Moss Point in Mississippi has set aside $2 million to cover recovery costs from a tornado that hit in mid-June. The funds will be used for debris pickup and cleaning services. California man sentenced to life after bringing woman into Mississippi for human trafficking

Rolling Fork being reimbursed over $1.3 million by feds after devastating EF-4 tornado
SUMMARY: Rolling Fork has received over $1.3 million from FEMA for debris cleanup after March 2023 tornadoes. Work from May 26 to Sept. 22, 2023, included removing 192,742 cubic yards of construction, 7,841 cubic yards of vegetative, and 4,869 cubic yards of concrete debris. The EF-4 tornado and severe storms devastated Rolling Fork, affecting a third of its 2,000 residents by destroying homes and businesses, and accounting for most of the 21 fatalities in Mississippi.
