MDOT crews work to make roads passable for drivers
SUMMARY: The Jackson metro area in Mississippi had icy road conditions on Tuesday, leading to multiple accidents. The Mississippi Department of Transportation is working to treat the roads, using upgraded machinery and additional manpower, following the 2021 ice storm. Officials urged drivers to stay off the roads unless absolutely necessary. They have 113 snowplows and are working around the clock to treat the roads. Crews are pulled in from other areas, and temperatures are not expected to rise above freezing. Despite the improved conditions, everyone is still encouraged to stay off the roads for safety.
