Two victims killed in graduation mass shooting identified

Pearl police arrest man for sexual assault of minor
SUMMARY: Pearl police arrested 31-year-old Lavarias Sherod Chaffee for sexual assault of a minor. Chaffee was charged with sexual battery of a child under 14, gratification of lust, kidnapping, child pornography, and child exploitation. The arrest followed a sexual assault investigation involving several juveniles. Chaffee was booked into the Rankin County Jail and police expect more charges as the investigation continues.

Kids check items off Christmas wish lists
SUMMARY: Walmart and Chick-fil-A fund a shopping spree that pairs 16 kids with police officers for a fun outing. Each child had $350 to spend at Walmart with an officer to select gifts for themselves and their family members. This event, called Shop with a Cop, helps to build stronger bonds between the officers and the kids. It also gives children a chance to interact with police officers in a positive light. The event ended with lunch at the police headquarters, courtesy of Chick-fil-A.
