Mississippi Dept. of Human Services warns SNAP recipients of skimmers

SUMMARY: The Mississippi Department of Human Services (MDHS) is warning people who SNAP of scammers targeting their EBT card numbers and PINs through skimming. Skimmers copy card information when a card is swiped or scanned for payment, which could happen at a grocery store payment system. If you fraud, MDHS recommends the compromised card and creating a new PIN. They also suggest avoiding simple PINs and keeping your PIN secret. Additionally, they advise checking your EBT account regularly for unauthorized charges and inspecting card reading machines for anything suspicious attached to the swiper or keypad.

Crews close Jackson street due to large sinkhole
