York West End Junior High School chosen for Adopt-A-School program
SUMMARY: A business advocacy organization in Tuscaloosa is partnering with a power company to enhance the educational experience of a school in Sumter County. The Chamber of Commerce West Alabama has a program called Adopt A School, where businesses, organizations, or even fraternities and sororities partner with schools to give back to the community. Alabama Power chose York West Junior High School and will provide volunteers for school projects, career awareness programs, and more. The school and the Chamber are excited about the opportunity for students to learn about different organizations and businesses in the community and prepare for the workforce. New program will teach Jacksonians how the water system works
SUMMARY: Jackson Water is launching a new educational initiative called the Jackson Water Academy. Overnight lane closure in Madison County
SUMMARY: The Planning Committee will discuss the matter at Tuesday's City Council meeting. M-DOT is preparing for overnight roadwork, starting at 7:00 PM tonight and continuing through 6:00 AM until Thursday. Crews will close lanes on the I-55 bridges over Highway 51 and the CNIC Railroad in Madison County to perform a concrete overlay. This work is part of an ongoing effort to repair the bridges.

Annual 'Click-It-Or-Ticket' campaign starts Monday
SUMMARY: The Jones County Sheriff's Department will intensify seat belt and child safety enforcement from tomorrow through June 2nd as part of the national “Click It or Ticket” campaign. This initiative aims to reduce fatalities, given that around 50% of vehicle accident deaths nationwide in 2022 involved unbuckled occupants.
