Jackson residents encouraged to prepare for Thursday’s storms
SUMMARY: Severe weather is expected in Jackson metro on May 8, urging citizens to be prepared for strong winds and hail. The City Council introduced a Severe Limb and Tree Risk Ordinance to report dangerous limbs and trees. Councilman Ashby Foote advised reaching out to council members for safety hazards. Over 100 trees fell in Northeast Jackson last month, causing damage and highlighting the importance of having good insurance for storm-related damages. Public Works and Solid Waste will monitor the storms closely. Preparation, awareness, and reporting potential dangers are emphasized to ensure safety during severe weather events.
