Jxn Water No E. Coli
SUMMARY: The third-party administrator, Ross, questioned the initial test results that led to a citywide boil water notice being issued in Jackson. Jackson Water reported that new water samples showed no E. coli in the water system, leading to concerns that the initial test results were false positives. This led to negative impacts on businesses, with some closing and others purchasing bottled water. The Mississippi State Department of Health stood behind the initial test results, stating that all evidence supports the presence of E. coli in the city's surface water. Overall, there are conflicting views on the accuracy of the initial test results and the decision to issue the boil water notice.
