JXN Water disputes lab results
SUMMARY: Water samples from both the cities of Jackson and Flowood in Mississippi tested positive for E. Coli, leading health officials to issue boil water notices. However, Jackson water officials are disputing the result, saying it was a false positive and the lab's mistake. The State Health Officer is confident in the lab's work and is expediting tests of new samples. Once two days of clear testing is obtained, the boil water notice will be lifted. Jackson's water officials are concerned that this notice will cause customers to lose faith in the drinking water, despite the progress they have made. The Mississippi State Department of Health urges customers to boil their water for safety.

SUMMARY: The construction of the River Avenue Bridge in Forest County has faced delays, originally scheduled for completion in mid-April but now uncertain. The County Engineer and Board of Supervisors revealed that construction company TL Wallace faced difficulties with guard rail installation, causing delays. However, this issue has been resolved, and crews are now working on finishing the decks before applying a final layer of asphalt. TL Wallace assured the board that the bridge should be complete or near complete by the following week. Commuters will have to wait a little longer before the River Avenue Bridge is open for use.
