The Zoo has a successful breeding program and are the only ones with a successful cub. They also participate in the Species Survival Program which aims to promote endangered or vulnerable species. The spotted hyenas are considered a vulnerable species and are no longer endangered. Kristen Moore, animal curator, stressed that the breeding program helps with genetic diversity in the population. The public was asked to guess the gender of the cub using a pink or blue .

Every 68 seconds, an American is sexually assaulted, with one out of every six women and about 3% of being victims. The Green Dot empowers the community to intervene by being direct, delegating, or distracting in situations of potential harm. Taking action can make a difference in reducing the number of victims.
