Candidates for governor still campaigning on election day
SUMMARY: The polls are set to close in less than an hour in Flowood, Mississippi, where the Reeves camp is monitoring voting and expecting strong results in certain precincts. The competitive race between Reeves and Brandon Presley has seen multiple attacks, including accusations of a welfare scandal and outside party influence. Reeves has argued against the influence of the Biden administration and liberal billionaires in California, New York, and Washington, DC. Although Presley has recently outraised Reeves, Reeves had more money on hand and has potentially outspent his opponent. Both candidates have set up return parties, with Reeves at the Sheraton in Flowood and Presley at the Faulkner in downtown Jackson. Presley has been campaigning across the state and visiting all 82 counties, receiving support from Republicans who are voting against hate. Presley’s campaign volunteers have knocked on over 200,000 doors in efforts to secure votes.

Ask John: What is the first day of autumn all about?
SUMMARY: In this week‘s “Ask John,” the question addressed is about the first day of autumn. John explains that autumn begins when the sun is directly over the equator, which occurs around September 22nd at 7:44 AM. The earth’s tilt at 23.5 degrees creates seasonal changes; without this tilt, we wouldn’t experience seasons. During autumn, days and nights are approximately equal in length. John emphasizes that understanding the sun’s position and the earth’s orbit helps explain why we have different seasons. Viewers are encouraged to submit questions for future segments.
