SUMMARY: NASA completed the final test firing of RS-25 engines at the Stennis Space Center in Mississippi for the Artemis missions to the Moon. The engines were fired for 500 seconds, reaching 113% power levels. New components were evaluated, including a nozzle, main combustion chamber, and engine controllers. The test appeared successful with no initial issues reported. More data will be collected before full engine production is approved. The engines will be used to power the SLS rocket on future Artemis missions to the Moon and Mars, beginning with Artemis 5. NASA aims to understand the system dynamics for future design improvements.
