Missouri woman sentenced for role in triple homicide at Jackson pawn shop

SUMMARY: Missouri woman Jamison Townsend was to 10 years in prison for her involvement in a robbery in December 2016. She helped her co-defendant, Joshua Garcia, rob Bill's Coin & Jewelry, where Garcia shot and killed the owner and two co-workers. Townsend and Garcia pawned stolen items in Mobile, Alabama and were later in Kansas after leading on a high-speed chase. Garcia pled guilty to discharging a firearm resulting in the deaths and received three sentences. Townsend also pled guilty to accessory after the fact and was sentenced to 10 years in prison.

County workers help city clean up storm debris in Columbus

SUMMARY: Lowndes County Road Department workers teamed up with Columbus Public Works crews to clean up debris after a wind . 28 county workers used 11 dump trucks to more than 100 loads of debris in two days. They cleared for utility crews to restore services and facilitated the replacement of streetlights and other repairs. Despite political boundaries, everyone worked together to get the job done efficiently. The county saw some near the new Sportsplex, but the experienced the hardest hit areas.
