High School basketball champions crowned in Mississippi
The 2022-2023 high school basketball season has reached an end in Mississippi with 12 teams taking home a state title.
Below is the final score for each classification's championship game.
Class 1A:
Boys – McEvans 67, McAdams 48. Brandon Hall and Jalen Smith led the way for the Warriors with 18 points a piece.
Girls – Ingomar 53, Biggersville 38. Freshman Daylen Grisham had 20 points, giving the Lady Falcons an edge to take home the title.
Class 2A:
Boys – Coahoma 67, Northside 34. Cam'ron Bell's 23-point performance was the bright light in the Red Panthers' title victory.
Girls – Lake 67, Heidelberg 43. Laniesha Palmer's MVP-earning 32-point performance boosted the Lady Hornets to earn a state title.
Class 3A:
Boys – Booneville 70, Lauderdale 51. The Bearcats were carried by Kedrick Simmons' performance which included 24 points and 11 rebounds.

Winston Co. Sheriff’s Office investigates shooting at Dave’s Club

Stabbing investigation leads to officer-involved shooting in Gulfport
SUMMARY: An officer-involved shooting occurred in Gulfport, Mississippi following a call about a stabbing on Reed Avenue on May 4. According to Bailey Martin of the Mississippi Department of Public Safety, an altercation between an officer and the suspect led to the shooting.
