H-E-B helps provide water to Mississippi amid water crisis

, Mississippi (KXAN) — Texas grocer H-E-B delivered truckloads of much-needed water to Mississippi last , after flooding last month on the Pearl left the city of Jackson without a supply.

H-E-B said the water was received at New Hope Baptist Church in Jackson. The Jackson is helping to distribute the water to communities devastated by the recent floods.

“Thank you to our @HEB Partners who helped mobilize multiple truckloads of water to #Mississippi & to @MSFoodNet New Hope Baptist Church in Jackson and the Jackson FD, which are helping get the much needed water to communities hit hard by the recent floods there,” the grocery chain wrote on Twitter.

Pearl River woman pleads guilty to stabbing tribal member

SUMMARY: Telinah Kowi Tek Farve, a woman from Pearl , pled guilty to assaulting a tribal member with a knife in the Pearl River Community of the Choctaw Indian Reservation. Court documents show that in 2023, she stabbed the tribal member, causing serious bodily injury. Farve was indicted by a federal grand jury and pled guilty to assault resulting in serious bodily injury. She is to be on August 6, 2024, facing a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison. The Choctaw Department and the FBI investigated the case, and a federal district judge will determine her sentence based on sentencing guidelines and other factors.
