Woman at center of Till killing has died

SUMMARY: Carolyn Bryant Donham, the woman at the center of the 1955 lynching of 14-year-old African American Emmett Till, has died at 88. Till was kidnapped and killed by two white for whistling at Donham. The murderers were acquitted by an all-white jury. A warrant for Donham's arrest was discovered in 2022, but a grand jury declined to indict her. Donham's memoir, “I Am More Than a Wolf Whistle,” shares her story but was leaked to the public in 2022 ahead of its planned 2036 release. Till's was a catalyst for the movement in the United States.

JPS decides to tear down 3 abandoned schools in the district

Buckatunna School debuts new playground

The new playground has already caught the attention of passersby, with many admiring the beauty and fun it offers. Overall, the school is proud of the upgrade and excited for students to enjoy it.

Man pled guilty to 2nd degree murder
