Stennis Space Center continues hot fire testing of RS-25 engines
SUMMARY: NASA completed the second hot fire test of their 12-test series to certify new RS-25 engines for the Space Launch System (SLS) at Stennis Space Center. Engineered by Aerojet Rocketdyne, the engines underwent a test duration matching what's needed for SLS rocket launches to orbit during Artemis moon missions. The engines will produce a combined thrust of 2 million pounds. Following the series, Aerojet Rocketdyne will start full-scale production of engines for missions starting with Artemis V. The testing marks a significant step towards the future of space exploration.
