Petal building projects making progress
SUMMARY: The city of Petal is making efforts to boost its economy by adding new businesses to areas like the Evelyn Gandy Parkway and Highway 42. City leaders have been working to bring more business to the friendly city, starting with a Starbucks and T-Mobile along Evelyn Gandy Parkway and a gas station just down the road on Highway 42. Steve Springer of Chevron mentioned that there will be a new Chevron gas station with around 4,500 square feet, which is expected to be a positive development for the area.
The city received over $5 million to build infrastructure on the north side of the Evelyn Gandy Parkway.

Lamar County School District bond referendum vote Tuesday
SUMMARY: Tomorrow, residents in Lamar County will have the chance to vote for or against a $117 million bond issue for the school district. School leaders believe this investment will enhance the schools and attract more people to the area. Property taxes would increase by $25 annually for a $100,000 home and $11 per year for a $115,000 vehicle. Voting will take place from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and precinct information can be found on wdam.com. Residents are encouraged to stay informed and participate in the decision-making process.

Soldiers Freedom Outdoors unveils new signage at Camp Meridale
