Showers and thunderstorms moving in from the west persist throughout the day, with the heaviest rain clearing out by 3:00 PM. Travel should be limited due to lightning, hail, and strong winds. Rain will continue into the evening and night before clearing into Wednesday. Highs in the upper 70s Wednesday and Thursday before the next rain maker and chance for severe weather on Friday. Temperatures will then mellow out over the weekend. Stay weather aware and keep your umbrella handy.

New parking meters go up in downtown Jackson
