City of Jackson looking for new library home
SUMMARY: Jackson city leaders are working with the Jackson Hinds Library System to find a new long-term home for the Eudora Welty Library after receiving federal grant money. The library had to move out of its downtown building due to storm damage in 2017 and is set to be demolished to make way for a new green park space. The city secured the funding after a Congressional grant request prepared by the Office of Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith. With the financial assistance, the library system hopes to find a suitable location for the Eudora Welty Library.
