Hinds County SO gets $500K from legislature

SUMMARY: The Sheriff's Office received $500,000 from the for new technology and patrol cars, benefiting both the department and citizens in central Mississippi. Sheriff Tyree Jones plans to use the funds for more body cams and 8 to 10 new patrol cars, improving public safety in the area. The investment will cycle out old vehicles with high mileage, increasing efficiency for enforcement . Jones expressed gratitude for the funds, noting that it will benefit not only the department but also the community as a whole, the state capital.
