New housing development under consideration in Petal
SUMMARY: The investigation mentioned in the content has been handed over to the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation. The content switches topics to discuss a potential new housing development in the city of Petal, Mississippi. The development could bring eighty to a hundred single-family homes to a three-mile cutoff near Corinth Road. Petal Alderman Blake Nobles states that the project is still relatively new and the planning committee will make a recommendation to the Board of Aldermen. They will ask a lot of questions and then give their official recommendation. It is mentioned that the board often goes with their recommendation on whether or not to proceed with the project.
The development could bring 80 to 100 single-family homes to the three-mile cutoff near Corinth Road.

Beth Ann White sentenced to 110 years for DUI that killed 2
SUMMARY: A woman named Bethann White received one of the longest sentences ever handed down in Hinds County for causing a deadly drunk driving collision that killed a mother and child and severely injured two other daughters. The judge cited White's lack of remorse as a factor in his decision. White's defense attorney immediately filed an appeal, arguing that the state failed to prove her blood alcohol content was above the legal limit at the time of the crash. White will have to serve at least 50% of her 110-year sentence before she is eligible for parole, and it is unlikely she will live long enough to be released from prison.
