New amnesty program in Wayne Co.

SUMMARY: County are implementing an amnesty program to address the growing number of unpaid fines and warrants, totaling over two million dollars. The program will allow individuals to pay their fines at a discounted rate and work them off if they are unable to pay. This initiative after changes in the prevent misdemeanors from being jailed for unpaid fees; the program is aimed at reducing the backlog. Chief Deputy Geoffery Clark and the sheriff's office are also looking to get involved in bringing back work programs for those unable to pay their fines.

The board of supervisors agreed to an amnesty program to allow folks to pay their fines at a discounted rate.

Northwest Rankin has a new boys basketball head coach
